A lot of folks love to call @schlutersystemsna KERDI-BOARD “flimsy,” “not structural,” or “weak.” Speak for yourselves. 😂Yes, I know it’s 5/8” and it’s not your standard wallboard. But I watched this stuff get run over by an 18-wheeler, and aside from being broken in half, it held up incredibly well.I’d say it proved its point.#SchluterSystems #KerdiBoard #TileInstallation #TileContractor

Stopped by to get some picture of this beauty on the way home the other day. This was done in collaboration with @flemingtongranite
The specific material used was Precious white marble. This bathroom was a ton fun to work on and tons of details went into this. Stay tuned as I will follow up with a walkthrough video going over it.

@jobtreadhas seriously been a lifesaver for our business. What started as a funny quote “all roads lead back to Kenny” actually started to become very true. That’s ultimately what pushed us to find software that worked better for our business. It’s such a small detail, but it really goes to show how something seemingly insignificant can end up making a huge difference in the way a business operates.#contractor #tile #development #systems #businessgrowth

Funny story about this kitchen… we actually did it twice.Unfortunately, this home flooded, which meant we had to come back and tile the entire kitchen floor all over again. As unfortunate as that was, this has to be one of my favorite kitchen floor layouts/designs we’ve worked with. It’s not overly technical or complicated, but it’s different, works really well with the cabinet colors, and gives the space something that makes it stand out.Sometimes, the simplest layouts are the ones that make the biggest impact.

Just a simple mitered step… Done correctly, might I add!Although this extra step may not have been entirely necessary, we didn’t want to take any chances with the miter separating down the road.We prefabricated this piece using @tenax_usa Strong Edge and color-matched epoxy to create a stronger, more reliable miter. This is definitely going to be the way we handle mitered pieces moving forward. What do you guys think?#tiledesign #contractor #tile #interiordesign #interiordesign

Recently completed for @rottaconstruction.This shower is exactly how I believe a true curbless shower should be done. We used roughly 4’ x 10’ large-format slabs to create a clean, seamless look with as few interruptions as possible.A minimalist 4” shelf runs continuously along the entire back wall, keeping the design functional without taking away from the slabs. The bathroom layout was designed to let everything flow together, right down to the wall-to-wall linear drain with a tiled cover. No bulky curbs. No unnecessary cuts. Just clean lines, thoughtful details, and a seamless transition throughout. To me, this is what curbless shower design is all about.#bathroom #tile #curblessshower #largeformattiles #masterbathroom

What’s your opinions, If you could would you install something like this in your house? This is a Fireplace tile slab installation, each slab was Four feet by 9 feet long, this was a very smooth installation and turned out beautifully! 🔥

Atlantic tile loves working with slabs. Although, our amazing guys make this look easy. It takes ton of repetition, training, teamwork and communication to complete a job like this. It also makes it a lot easier using @raimondi_spa setup. #tiledesign #largeformat #slabtiles #porcelain #fireplace

We had to make right on this floor. After pouring the first batch of self leveler, it didn’t have the integrity that we anticipated so we made the right decision to redo it. Floor came out rock solid the second time around and now ready to finish up this bathroom!

Buy once, cry once.Thankfully, I learned this lesson pretty early in life. Ironically, it wasn’t through tile—it was through my passion for cars. The number of times I’ve bought the cheaper part or rushed an installation because I wanted to save a little money has almost always cost me more in the end. I’ve had to buy the right part anyway, spend twice the labor, and deal with the frustration of doing the same job twice. That lesson translates perfectly to the construction industry. If you’re a contractor who genuinely takes pride in delivering exceptional work, you know exactly what I’m talking about. It’s frustrating walking into failed jobs because someone decided to cut corners to save a few bucks. And if you’re a homeowner reading this, remember this:You’re not just paying for tile. You’re paying for proven systems, clear communication, experienced employees, proper installation methods, quality tools, attention to detail, accountability, warranties, and the confidence that the job is being done the right way the first time. The cheapest price is rarely the cheapest outcome. #contractor #tiledesign #tile #bathroomremodel #bathroomrenovation

Update on Hank’s shower! The guys officially wrapped up all the tile and grout. All that’s left is epoxying the miters, final plumbing, spackling, and paint. This was our first time custom making and installing a floating vanity, and I’d say it turned out pretty solid. Every project teaches you something, and this one was no exception. For all the tile installers and contractors out there—how would you have tackled this project? Would you have done anything differently? Drop your thoughts below. #contractor #tile #dogs #dogshower #puppy

Here is a perfect example of two businesses working simultaneously taking on the construction industry. So many times there’s miscommunication, leading to delays, unexpected costs, and many more issues. With a system like Job Tread, using it from GC to trade completely eliminates that. Here’s a simple example of how that works. Are there any other Tile contractors out there using Job Tread? #contractor #communication #tilecontractor #system #tile

Screeding your walls is an easy and effective to fix a wall that may not be totally flat. This wall was a bit low in the middle. If not fixed prior to starting tile your either going to end up with a little dip in your wall which can be very noticeable, or spend much longer fixing it during the tiling process than if you had just correctly prepped before hand.

We’re installing a Schluter membrane over the heated floor cable to create a smooth, level surface for the tile installation. While Schluter membranes are commonly used for waterproofing, in this application the primary goal is to flatten the floor and provide an even substrate for the mosaic sheet tiles in the shower.

We wanted to share a quick progress update on our house in Belmar. The prep work has been especially time-consuming but essential, including installing heat cables in three of the four bathrooms. We’re also moving forward with a significant amount of mosaic sheet tile across both flooring and walls, which is really starting to shape the overall look and feel of the space.

Here’s a look at some of the often-overlooked prep work that goes into a quality tile installation. This short video shows what it looks like to install a Schluter heated floor cable. We extended the heat cable beyond the main bathroom floor and into the shower pan—because stepping onto a warm shower floor just makes sense. 😀 the area that is left off is where the vanity is going so it is very important that you figure out your vanity dimensions before installation.
